Description
The Jagdgeschwader 1 “Oesau” (JG 1) was a German Luftwaffe fighter-wing in the Second World War, named after its sixth commodore, Walter Oesau a well-known German fighter Pilot.
The flying wings flown by this units were the Focke Wulf 190, Heinkel He 162 as well as the Messerschmitt Bf 109.
Jg 1 was formed on May 1939 On January 1 1945 three Groups oft he Units took part on the operation „Bodenplatte“ an attack of german fighter units on allied airfields.
